Introduction

CIMSability is a purpose built disability services application, designed by the industry, for the industry. The Vision behind the application was that of the Mai-Wel Group, one of the Hunter valley’s largest disability service providers. 

As a result the Mai-Wel Group is responsible for determining the strategic direction of the application in terms of functionality inclusions and industry observance. The involvement from such an organisation who is also an end user is a significant strength of the CIMSability solution. Liveware Solutions is the software development and distribution partner for CIMSability.

Feedback from end users will form a significant contribution to future enhancement. Via the CIMSassist support portal users have the mechanism to express their ideas and feedback.

Technical

Developed on the Microsoft .NET platform, IIS & SQL Server, CIMSability represents the latest in software application know-how and technology, allowing CIMSability to respond to industry demands in a more agile manner whilst delivering on the promise of a flexible, robust yet easy to use disability services application.

Strategic Vision for CIMSability

It is the goal of the Mai-Wel Group to provide a solution to the DMI challenges and to supply Disability Services organisations with the tools to better support their clients. The scope of functionality envisaged for CIMSability includes;

-       Enhanced security of information across Programs

-       Comprehensive database capabilities for Client and Staff Management

-       Disability Maintenance Instrument (DMI) requirements of the FaCSIA Online Financial Management System (FOFMS)

-       HADS compliance

-       Census compliance

-       DEN Management

-       DEN Evidence collation

Forthcoming Enhancements

The initial release addresses four of the strategic functional objectives. An aggressive program of additional functional releases has already occurred and will continue in 2009 and 2010. Enclosed is the current 2009 and 2010 major release/ enhancement release projections.

Additionally, several functionality enhancements have been signaled and remain in research & development; these include;

-       Mobile Device Technology; the extension of CIMSability to include mobile device solutions for the remote DMI and DEN evidence collection.
